About:

From the website:

"The origins of Carrbridge Golf Club are shrouded in the mists of time. What is definite is that the Club was re-formed in 1980 and is celebrating its 25th Anniversary in 2005.

The National Golf Museum holds records of the Club dating from 1905 and so we can be reasonably sure that 2005 also gives rise to a Centenary Celebration!

Further back, there is unsubstantiated theory that the Club was actually formed in 1880, thus providing a third reason to celebrate in 2005!

The course is kept superbly by a dedicated green keeping team and offers a challenge to all levels of golfer. The nine greens often change in character as the game progresses and so there is usually a different challenge when circumnavigating for the back half of a round.

In many cases, the competition tees also present a different course from the tees of the day for ordinary play. Carrbridge is renowned for its Open competitions and so visitors get plenty of opportunity to see the different aspects that this gem of a nine-hole course can offer. Many competitors return annually including international visitors. Carrbridge is now firmly established on the golfing map as being one of the places to play.

Burns and ditches provide natural hazards on all holes along with the lie of the land and as much preservation of native flora as can be afforded. Carefully positioned bunkers give cause for thought when managing your way around this delightful course.

The village of Carrbridge has several hotels and Bed and Breakfast establishments as well as the famous Landmark Visitor Centre. Whilst there are plenty of other attractions in and around it, Carrbridge is also ideally placed for a base from which to travel around Scotland – always assuming you can tear yourself away once you have fallen in love with Carrbridge Golf Club!

A hearty Highland welcome awaits anyone, golfer or not, ready to visit and relax in Carrbridge!"

Club facilities:

Since 1980 the Club has made steady progress, particularly in recent years with improvements to the Clubhouse (formerly just a shed) and the course.

Being a small Highland course lends Carrbridge the character it enjoys. The Clubhouse is known affectionately as the tin shed, thanks to its corrugated iron roof – a common feature of dwellings in the Highlands until recently.

However, it is a welcoming building from which members and guests enjoy toilet and (limited) changing facilities as well as a fully functional tearoom offering all the usual administration matters as well as wholesome sustenance for golfers and non-golfers alike.

The clubhouse also houses a small but well stocked golf shop and this year in particular there will be Anniversary merchandise available which might well become collectors items in the future!

Carrbridge Golf Club welcomes visitors, both golfing and non–golfing (if you are looking for a snack).
